Meet Jamilla Deville

Jamilla Deville is widely regarded as one of the world's most skilled pole dancers, a pioneer of the art form, a multi-award-winning showgirl, championship judge and globally-recognized pole instructor. Having trained in various forms of movement both on the ground and in the air, her understanding of the principles of pole dancing is unparalleled. She now resides in Las Vegas, USA, where she trains all levels from novice to professional. Jamilla is also a Crossfit athlete, with experience in the competing arena.
Jamilla is of the firm belief that although pole dancing as a system of movement is impressive, the essential spirit and beauty in pole dancing is found through grace and artistry.
Jamilla's creation The Art of Pole Collection, also known as “the pole dancer’s bible”, is the most awarded pole dancing instruction DVD series in the world, influencing pole dance styles and teaching techniques across the globe.
Renowned for her strength, athleticism and grace as a performer, Jamilla's understanding and mastery of such crucial elements of pole dancing as safety, body alignment, aerial fitness and balance set her apart as a leader in her field, making her offerings as an instructor invaluable to dancers all over the world.
Jamilla's resume spans over two decades and across the globe. Her pole dancing career began in the year 2000 and Jamilla claimed the original title of Miss Pole Dance Australia in 2005. She was voted by the global pole community as IPDFA International Instructor of the Year for two consecutive years (2010 and 2011), as well as Pole Dance International Magazine’s Instructor of the Year 2011.
Jamilla founded the International Pole Federation (IPF) in 2006, an organisation created to address standards in the pole dancing industry and to facilitate communication between pole dancers worldwide.
Jamilla launched her signature studio, Jamilla Deville Pole Studio, in Sydney, Australia, in 2006.
